As a poor Chicago kid, it took me awhile to see the ocean. When I met it, I was astounded by the beauty of its vastness, the endless dance of the waves on the rocks, and shades of blue I had never seen. Each moment I came to the land’s edge, I took time to ground myself and show appreciation to the earth’s gifts.
